In the six-part series, Mary Berry’s Absolute Favourites, the adored British home cook draws on her wealth of cookery know-how to share some of her “absolute favourite” recipes.
Each week, she draws inspiration from a favorite place – one where she likes to spend time – and cooks up tried-and-tested crowd-pleasers, as well as new dishes that are easy to make but guaranteed to impress your family and friends.
In the premiere episode, Mary draws on inspiration from her happiest memories from her childhood holidays spent at the British seaside.
To start, she prepares delicious goat’s cheese and shallot tarts with a unique and delectable walnut pastry – perfect for a picnic or a day by the sea. Then, she makes a family favorite – her crab and cod fishcakes with tomato salsa, followed by a special dinner party classic of sea bass with brown shrimp and caper sauce.
Aside from cooking her seaside favorites, Mary visits Botany Bay on the Kent Coast where she indulges in one of her favorite seaside passions – prawning – before cooking up a new dish of seafood linguine that she’s come to adore.
Finally, she visits an ice cream parlor for her favorite treat – a knickerbocker glory. It’s easy to make and will have everyone asking for more.
