Harrisburg boutique owner shares her passion for thrifting and how she uses it to empower women

Thursday, February 2, 2023

There’s a popular phrase, “Dress for Success”, and a Harrisburg business owner is taking that charge into her own hands to make a difference in the lives of women in Central Pennsylvania.

Janica Wright, owner of Jay’s Boutique, is using her passion for thrifting to provide a unique experience for women and empower them to meet every opportunity with confidence and professionalism, all while saving them a pretty penny.

Wright joined us on The Spark Thursday to tell her story, share her passion for thrifting, tips for thrift shopping and how she uses thrifting to empower women.

Wright said, she started her business after noticing a need in the corporate world to help people realize how they present themselves on a daily basis makes a difference in how one feels and the things they’re able to accomplish.

She also said, her boutique takes the stress out of the shopping experience by providing options for every occasion, sizes for all body types, and prices as low as $5.

What I noticed the most was at times that lack of confidence and we have all had that imposter syndrome hit us hard in one way or another,” Wright said. “But being able to see what’s on the heart and minds of other females that are in customer service or working in corporate America nowadays, it really was impactful to have people realize that you can get quality things without having to think that it was outside of your reach, or what you were able to do to have that successful role or to be able to walk in a room and own it without even saying anything at a great price point.”
